About
your relatives H-1B Visa Application: The H-1B visa
opens in October of each year and it closed down when it reached
the quota. For 1999 alone, the H-1B issuance was closed in
March reaching the 110,000 quota. The next H-1B opening for
the year 2003 will be in October 2002. The INS does process
the H-1B application on first come first serve basis. The
INS starts accepting the applications now but will not process
it until Oct. 2002. So the earlier we can submit the application
the better chances your relative to attain the H-1B visa.
The 110,000 H-1B visa is allocated to all foreign nationals
who are professionals and obviously registered nurses are
competing with computer science personnel in attaining the
same visa status.
